Liebherr started the production of gear cutting machines at the beginning of the 1950s and today is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of gear hobbing machines, gear shaping machines, gear skiving machines, generating and profile grinding machines, as well as gear cutting tools. In 2019 Liebherr also entered the area of measurement technology with the gear measuring machines. These products are used by many well-known companies in the international mechanical engineering and automotive industry. The pioneering technologies of the high-speed machining in gear technology not only protects the environment, but also increases the machine’s productivity.

We here at MTB support the older generation Liebherr gear machines from fully mechanical machines to newer CNC machines which utilize the proprietary Liebherr Control platforms. While we might not be as proficient/efficient as Liebherr might have been back in the day, we are fully supported by Liebherr USA and Liebherr Germany when servicing their older gear machine equipment. MTB stocks a plethora of older control boards and drive components for these vintage machines as a result of our aggressive Liebherr re-control programs over the years.
