The Hamai N40 gear hobbing machine is a revolutionary workhorse first employed in mass production starting in 1988. You'll find hundreds of them quietly producing small gears in mass production for small motors, OEM equipment and other applications where large volumes of high precision helical or spur gears are required day in and day out.
Designed from the start with state of the art technology, these machines are built with 5 - 7 CNC controlled axes, direct-drive work tables & hob heads as well as optional synchronized counter spindles for (tighter) high-tolerance work. The N40 machine has a high speed cutter spindle for cutting gears up to Module 0.75 (1.0M with free-cutting materials) either WET or DRY, reliable Fanuc Series 31i CNC controls and drive system with user friendly conversational data input.
Known for their heavy-duty construction, Hamai horizontal hobbers are known in tight circles for their high accuracy and stability in production applications. In many cases, gears are produced with similar AGMA quality levels as ground gears. As a stable platform for DRY cutting, these compact machines can be configured for dedicated or flexible production scenarios and can even be kitted out for skive hobbing of hardened gears.
The N40 model is the BASE model and comes equipped for the US Market with Options added (and available Options) per below.
